                The cost of Pol Pot’s actions was lives. 2,000,000 deaths, 25 percent of the country's population, from starvation, overwork and executions. Some one had once said "Whether you live or die is not of great significance." Saying that the Khmer Rogue has no care for the Cambodian people. A popular Khmer slogan read "What is rotten must be removed”. Half of the estimated 425,000 Chinese living in Cambodia during 1975 died. 20,000 people were tortured at Tuol Sleng into giving false confessions; Tuol Sleng was a school in Phnom Penh converted into a jailhouse.
